What The Walls Remember
Painting
Mixed Media on Canvas
Life moves fast. We leave home chasing better days, and with time the details fade, the colours, the voices, the warmth of those old mornings. This painting is my way of honouring where I come from while acknowledging the bittersweet truth of nostalgia: remembering can ground you, but it can also pull you into a place you can't stay.
The figure in the window represents the people we leave behind, and the versions of ourselves we leave with them. The clothesline and the fading wall carry the marks of time, imperfect, ordinary, but deeply meaningful. This is a visual meditation on staying present while holding gratitude for the past, without letting it consume you.
